kind of saw this coming, the quality dropping was a huge symptom of ending prematurely. it’s a shame though, it seemed like they were nearing the end of the novel anyway, welp, i hope the author is ok and it ended on good terms.

Honestly, tragedy is such a weird tag, because I have no idea how one dictates what series should have it and what shouldn't. If having tragic backstories and some depressing scenes warrant a tragedy tag, then a lot of series should get it, like One Piece, Frieren, or Tokyo Ghoul, but none of them got it.
Does Witch Hat Atelier have tragic backstories and some depressing scenes? Yes, it does, but I personally wouldn't consider tragedy as the defining element of the series, just as no one would tag One Piece with tragedy even if it has a lot of tear jerking moments. Witch Hat Atelier has many emotional moments, but it has a lot of heartwarming moments as well. It's a pretty well-rounded fantasy story.
Ohh if you put it like that I’m totally ok with starting this series. Usually when something has a tragedy tag, I assume it means bad ending bc that’s what tragedy usually entails. Kind of misleading if it just has some sad moments and has a tragedy tag tho

Maybe I lack reading comprehension, but the author isn’t doing a very good job at “show don’t tell,” the MC looks so incompetent most of the time despite us being told he’s “one of the best.” It’s lowk frustrating to constantly see the MC lose and get tricked by the ML, it genuinely takes me out of the story at how dumb they made MC. idk, I haven’t read the recent chapters, but from what I read before, I can’t get myself to enjoy the plot
agree w u heavvyyyy taekjoo in frst szn was so badass,,, like okay ig theyre trying to show how powerful zhenya is and how completely hopeless it is to escape from him but taekjoo is letting it happen but i try not to judge too quickly since its ongoing gulps
The author can't allow him to be smart otherwise it would never turn into a love story. Author is also not intelligent enough to write mind games between two actual geniuses
