Where did I say that the story isn't complex? I already mentioned I understand the possible reasons why he made that choice. I also can fixate on what triggers me so I can decide whether I want to continue reading something or not. I do not do well with codependent relationships, especially ones involving lies (including cheating). And anyway, of course it DOES matter who he is or isn't with for the overall story or specific character developments. You can keep your condescending comment to yourself, though.

And they are not together tbh, MC appears strong but he's scared shitless in general. He's scared of his dad he's scared of this dude reacting and jeopardizing him in some way. I wouldn't call this being together. That guy is purely evil

Thanks for the actual answer!! I see, so they're still technically together at that point. And yeah I understand that the circumstances aren't like a typical mutual, consenting relationship and even from the few chapters it looks like he's convinced himself that he likes that other guy as a defense mechanism.
I'll continue reading when I gather my resolve cause this is personally affecting me a lil too much on top of everything else that's happening in the story. Or maybe best to read once completed

He looks manipulate af and that's why I want to avoid reading this for the time being if he's gonna be one of the bigger complications in Baekhee's life. Particularly if they haven't broken it off clearly between them when he gets emotionally close to Il Woo romantically (not just as friends), which I assume is why they kiss. I can deal with reading of other problems and difficult situations, I'm just especially weak to handle this stuff when it's an ongoing story. Thanks for your response!

By saying "you shouldn't focus on who Bekhee is or isn't with," I meant that Bekhee isn't actually in a romantic relationship with the other guy. Technically, he convinced himself that he liked him because he viewed Go Gyeom as his only escape—the only person who understood his pain, and his only hope of getting away from Gicheon. There is no third party in this relationship; it has always been just Bekhee and Yang Ilwoo. Go Gyeom is merely a pest who wants to control and dominate every aspect of Bekhee, because he views him as his personal possession.

You mean the other guy right? I'm pretty sure he will be a major issue later.

Pretty sure ilwoo did something to him or the other way around which is why presently ilwoo is not there

if it makes it any better, im also sensitive to certain parts of the story that involve baekhee selling himself short, but i tend to skip those by just scrolling and it helps me to enjoy the story more. ofc i dont ignore it completely as it’s important to baekhee’s character as well as the story, but its better for my mental if i don’t physically see it
i do think it’s an amazing writing and one of my favorites, keeping up with upcoming chapters while it’s still being produced adds a form of enjoyment in my opinion! i even considered waiting till completion but just couldn’t bc it feels nice to watch the story grow along the way
