this was a really satisfying read and the characters' decisions were realistic so u cant really hate them. tbh, there wasnt really much romance? it was more of yearning, angst, and healing. i rlly liked it tho. i highly suggest u read it (▰˘◡˘▰)
i dropped this before at heiner's backstory but im so glad i picked it up again. it's really a story where you can't hate anyone due to their circumstances (except for the marquess) and the angst was so good that it made me cry a few times

RAPEY as in “rape-like”. Doesn’t mean actual rape where ‘sex’ takes part but sexual assault, harassment and non-censual behaviour. Op probably meant they hoped there weren’t weird sexual situations in the story, which does happen in the plot.
