I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, even when he kidnapped him it was still just fluff except for that scare but I can't believe he was so sweet to him the entire time

Okay the dad i can kinda understand since he was basically out at war although he should and could have done better, the brothers have no excuse and neither does the grandfather. I wish she would have made them stew in regret a bit longer for them but I can get wanting to give them a last chance.

The adult are just telling her or pushing her saying what she should feel and not actually trying to figure out why she doesn't feel the need to leave. The duchess is just trying to force her into the magic tower without listening to her and the duke is just using her to fulfill his desires. All the adults in this story are annoying.
Yes, because letting a child with survivor's guilt push to stay in a place where they could be murdered at any time is a smart solution. Do that irl and ANY reasonable person would be calling CPS. The duchess not wanting this kid to die in vain is very reasonable. Pushing her towards the magic tower, a place that can protect her, is reasonable. Why are we demonizing a woman making sense? Outside of this manwha, Astrid is being reasonable. Ain't no way I'd be listening to a kid who essentially says they want to stay in an unsafe home. (⌒▽⌒)
I wasnt demonizing her, I said no one is trying to find out WHY she is okay with staying in an unsafe location. Telling someone who is suicidal to just stop being suicidal is plain stupid and not going to work. And please keep your response in the pov of the story world because no one is talking about real life here.
Keeping my responses within the story POV doesn't change my answer. Any reasonable, half-competent adult wouldn't allow a child to stay in that situation. Astrid is being reasonable. Your comment and many others make Astrid out to be some weirdo annoying meddler for not wanting a child to stay in an unsafe situation.
Sure, Astrid could ask a few more questions. But her goal is to get this kid out ASAP because her husband was planning on murdering MC as soon as Astrid woke up. To her, the situation is urgent.
No one is telling MC to not be suicidal. No one likely realizes she's there under threat. And MC is not going to just suddenly confess this information. Asking her why she's fine with dying isn't going to make her fess up. So, no, I don't find Astrid annoying for being the only adult here with a working brain.
You can find her annoying (the Duke definitely is), but she is looking out for MC's best interest.
Okay im just gonna say this one last time. Im not arguing that shes a bad person or what she is doing is making her a horrible person, if you wanna argue that fact maybe comment on which ever other post said that shes a horrible person. Because AGAIN. Im not saying shes a bad person or that her end goal is bad. IM SAYING I dont like the fact that every adult in this story is imposing their will on this kid, and then not bothering to ask why she doesn't want the logical choice of survival. Even if she doesn't tell them straight out they can always find out by looking into it. And yes I get it, the logical choice is survival, but right now nothing is her choice which is what im finding annoying about the adult characters in this story.

I guess im not reading the same story as everyone else, cuz what do you mean why is she so bratty and bitchy? No one taught her how to do it better. She's basically, no shes had not a single soul on her side to really teach her anything different, and the world taught her that everyone is cruel and she is the only one she can rely on. Her mother's way taught her that she can be assaulted at any time, and let's be real thats the only other reference this poor girl has besides being bratty and bitchy.

This was a weird spot to end the season but okay. Story is okay but getting pretty boring dont know if im gonna continue to read. Fl and ml dont really have an interesting dynamic and there's not really much happening
Okay but I like Ian Child as the ML cuz yea he might have ulterior motives but he seems to genuinely like her and chosing to see what's infront of him right now than just believing rumors and what's up with this season end. Like for no reason and such a weird spot
