I just don't think it ended how ti was supposed to end. It had a huge build-up to do a whole other plot but then nothing happened with their faited pairs. That's just my opinion, though.
Eh you got a point, with introducing two fated pairs and creating conflict, you may expect more out of this. But the reason why it seems to (in some opinions) fall short of everything that cold happen. But of the message the manga is conveying is the reason it ended the way it did. It presented a conflict, go with fate or your own choice.
