Bro it hurtsss to see people misunderstand these complex characters so much. Almost ALL of the main cast has some sort of trauma and the way they are now and how they interact with eachother is a direct result of that. Everyone is dissing Varkas about how hes too nonchalant like he hasn’t been struggling too. Yea I’ll admit it’s not too apparent now early in the manhwa but it’s clearly been stated he’s been literally BRAINWASHED and used as a tool his whole life and discouraged from showing any emotion. Yall are totally entitled to your opinion if you believe another male lead would be better for Talia but don’t pretend like the way Varkas acts makes absolutely no sense.
Same thing goes for Talia we know what she’s been through more than anyone else because he story is in her point of view. Shes been abused and mistreated since she was a child leaving her with no one to trust but obviously she still craves some sort of connection and love. The first person she felt that somewhat protected her was Varkas (even though that was his job until she turned 16), so obviously when her ONLY sorce of any type of comfort is suddenly gone she’s gonna try to cling to it desperately. She would’ve clung to someone whether it was Varkas or not (this was also literally shown to us with the m creep she used to consider her uncle), so no she’s not madly in love with him out of pure stupidity.

It’s still in ongoing, in fact since it’s the prequel to the authors other story(forgot the name)the novel can’t just end with the death of Talia since she has to live for the events of the other story to take place so there’s likely going to be a regression in the novel but it’s farrrr from over.

Don’t get me wrong this chapter was hot asf but like I feel like with the way they’ve been slowly building up their relationship and the way Su ah has been openly obsessed and in love with Jinhyeok I feel like it would’ve been more gratifying if they’re first time would’ve been different.
