The scientist caught a glimpse of the sensei while he’s on his way to work and he wanted to talk to him. Later when he’s back from work at night, he coincidentally saw the sensei again while the sensei’s patrolling. While the scientist’s considering how to start a conversation with the sensei, he unconsciously followed him on his van. He stopped, took a turn and stopped on another street, still thinking how he should greet the sensei. That’s when the murderer came and banged his car’s window. He followed the footage of the murderer and found the sensei’s already been killed so he decided to take him and the student home

for anyone who is confused, below I wrote a short summary. but first lemme point out that pages with black background show what happened in the past and white pages are what's happening in present time. It may be confusing when it changes back and forth.
anyway, here is the summary:
Shangai's largest criminal organization's boss appoints Yuron as his successor on his deathbed. One year later Song-Wu confiscates a truck loaded with opium -Yuron's merchandise- and shows it to Lt. Jiang. Jiang makes a deal with Yuron. He'll make sure that Yuron never loses another shipment of opium again in return for %30 of his business revenue. Jiang heard of rumors about Yuron and thinks Yuron's secretly gay. He tempts Yuron and Yuron's willingness proves him right. It turns out Tang orchestrated for the opium-filled truck to be confiscated by the army, but he blames Yuron for it because he's jealous that Yuron, who is younger than him, was made the new boss and wants Yuron gone.
