The thing is Nain do love Gwen but there also this bond between him and Amon because Nain is the dragon mate or something (I kinda forgot what it says exactly in the novel). It's not exactly a throuple but I'd say Nain truly love Gwen but the thing he went through with Amon, them being mate and stuff is also very hard for him to live without Amon. It's kinda sad because Amon never also really love Nain but he doesn't ever become more empathic and human...:'((
