I can’t believe this is rated a 9.3 it’s awful!!! Too much r @ p3!!!
Simple, because it’s interesting, the art and story is good, and it also has plot. And also it’s an entire series, there are still other books after passion. And they have complex and interesting relationships in here.
Also u do know that no one is defending those r@pe scenes? Ilay is a psychopath with low morals, And despite taeui saying he’s normal, is not really normal himself either.
Btw the og novel is really old, so it was already problematic in some ways if we compare to modern real life (which a lot of people are doing for some reason), but please know how seperate fiction and reality guys
I thinks the convept of the story where the brotbers are involved is interesting definately! No one is defending the r@pe but people love ilay is CRAZY to me!!! Taeui may not be normal but he doesnt deserve any of whats happened to him the fact that he keeps letting it happen to him tho means he definately isnt normal i miss when he had a stronger back bone for himself and didnt let ilay do what he does to him! I can diffreniate between fiction and reality but that doesnt mean we have to be okay with all the r@pe saying he's a psycopath doesnt make it better or an excuse its still sick!
Ofc I’m not defending Ilays actions by calling him a psychopath, and neither do the Ilay fans. Everyone agrees he’s a black flag. I also agree that taeui doesn’t deserve it.
It’s more so that he’s just an interesting character, because it’s not often we see a true psychopath + incredibly violent character that is terrible from the very beginning, and doesn’t undergo a unrealistic drastic change when getting “character development” in terms of personality outside of relationships.
Another part that’s interesting, is how despite him being a terrible and scary person, when he actually shows empathy or human emotions it can be kinda entertaining, which is why some fans can’t hate Ilay, but they will ofc never defend his actions

I’ve seen this trope so many times that I’m just glad he hasn’t r8ped him (yet)
