ML was already fallen with MC but it took time for MC to accept ML fully. The killing mission waa proceed as planned but ML didn't get killed, just a few shots landed on his shoulder/leg (iirc). There's definitely a tiny bit of feeling that MC felt but I believe he's definitely felt betrayed when he heard ML wanted to kill him too after the killing mission. MC would run away like 2 times. Their earlier sex was non-con, ML would forced himself onto MC, but ML would learn about boundaries later.
