I feel that Shi Liu will ultimately take his life, for as a killer, he delights in snuffing out the lives of others. Yet, confronted with Lu Qi’s apathy, he hesitates, embracing the silent challenge of stirring emotion within him, of awakening a yearning for life. And now, seeing that Lu Qi has grown fond of him, that he has clung to him and found something worth living for, the dark desire to extinguish that newly kindled spark of life stirs once more within Shi Liu.
