I wasn’t expecting to bawl my eyes out like this!! The heartache, devotion, and chaos were so intense. I was rooting for Jo and Ian because the plot seemed to push that way, but I kept an open mind for Taejoon since I thoroughly enjoyed his and Ian’s chemistry and bond as well.
Looking back, Ian’s choice made sense and I called it. He was holding onto his past long before the ending, especially when he tried to take those rings from the cigarette box before leaving with Jo. The experience of falling in love with Jo was necessary because he showed Ian that a happy, normal future was possible. So while Ian and TJ couldn’t change their traumatic past, they can now build a normal life together in their own way. One person was bound to end up heartbroken either way.
I’m sad and in tears for Jo and the possible future him and Ian could have had. It’s bittersweet, but I’m also happy Ian and TJ finally get to be together as lovers. The title is so fitting. Just like wet sand, the past clings to you and is hard to wash away, but it’s also malleable, allowing them to finally shape the future that they desire.
I will read this again from a different perspective with Taejoon more in mind. Now that I’m a bit calmer from all the crying, I’m glad that Ian is able to provide to Taejoon what Jo would have gave for Ian.

Ah I feel baited. I was really looking forward to Peter and Johannes getting it on! At least once? I did not want to see him being intimate with that reporter ugh (though he had no choice). Anyways, this was an interesting read.
Yes it’s sick; this is a psychological horror after all. One should expect it to be dark and also, allegedly this goes on irl as far as orphans being “adopted” to patrons and whatnot and corruption in churches behind the scenes, as sick as it is. Anyways, I’m satisfied with how they ended the story. Peter is Johannes god.
Aww he was just a grower not a shower lol. This was a great read! Wish it was longer. I love me some stories with batsh* crazy ukes!

I liked the main story and main couple but the side stories wasn’t needed imo. Like why fall in love with that human? I wasn’t expecting that. And then when the guy was ruminating on and on about how he could barely remember his hyung it made me wonder hmm what if he hallucinated bending his hyung over? We already know he’s not right in the head so it wouldn’t be far off. Anyways just my interpretation. This was a great quick read, lots of funny moments but that side story was not it. They could’ve gave us a quick little one, two update and then focused on the main couple.
This was so well-written. The previous short stories I read were a bit shallow and lacked depth as far as plot/characters/pacing etc, so I was not expecting this to be any different and invoke so much emotion and have such a great storyline. It was a beautiful, heart-wrenching read. I cried multiple times
