Base theory: Liz = Elizabeth.
She was kidnapped/ lost/ unknowingly proclaimed dead but turned up at the orphanage.
Theory 1:- had her magic siphoned to make the purple magic stone.
Dad chased the kidnappers, but it was a secret operation because he didn't want kidnappers/enemies know. The son was misinformed of the dad's true purpose/hypnotised or had to prioritise something else. He hates commoners because a commoner was responsible for his mother's/father's demise.
When our FL approached the magic stone in 1st chapter it reacted with the remaining magic and rewound time because it acknowledged her as a family member/ her.
OR
Theory 2: following the same plotline except Dad went into the forest alone to find the magic stone and had to go alone / didnt allow his son or wife to follow / hid the dangerous journey from them. And since dad died clutching the magic stone it might have acknowledged his wife/bloodline.
Oh, and the Queen is evil (can extend to the rest of the royal family as story progresses). She siphons magic from others onto herself and the mother's rumours are basically her rumours/ fanned by her. The princess wanted to break the stone/ gain acknowledgement from the stone without the queen knowing to either stop her or become more powerful than the queen/ she's greedy.
I have read more novels/mangas and seen more dramas than I should.... should probably get a life.(〜￣△￣)〜
