Suyeong goes to prepare numbing/anesthetic (?) medicine to help lessen the pain for the emperor’s (in wolyun’s body) beheading like he did for the other emperor in the beginning. However, just as the emperor is about to be beheaded, he switches body again and is back in his own body. Wolyun gets beheaded. Suyeong reunited with the emperor. Overall happy ending.

Yep he knows that’s why he wants to help make his death as painless as possible. He gets scolded by the emperor for trying tho cause if he gets caught, suyeong will get punished.
