To the people defending Riftan, going “it’s cuz of his childhood/background,” etc etc. and whatever other excuses… Know this, he never changes. It would be one thing if he behaved this way, with that reasoning, and then improved in the way Maxi does (a process she puts a lot of time and energy into), but that’s not the case. He behaves this way now and he will continue to behave this way throughout the entire story. He is a stagnant rock of a man that recycles the same BS & is a genuine pain to deal with lmao
