What a complex story. The art and writing was beautiful but damn. It was a restless read throughout. Idk how to feel at all. I was expecting a better redemption but all we got was oh he's a sociopath. I keep going back and forth with whether I hate him or pity him. The mc was solid putting aside the fact that he willingly chose a cold and cruel murderer.
Ngl It would've made it for me if garon ended up dying. That would be the perfect tragic ending imo. Ik happy endings are the public norm but this one didn't need it. It felt unrealistic... but there's also a weird enough beauty in the fact that both garon and roha with their mental illnesses and traumas, decide to be their whackest selves with one another. Classic I can fix him storyline ig. He was hot enough to almost be forgivable... *almost*
I fully expected raon to be a hidden villain to justify how brutal the author was to him sob. My poor green forest. Your guard deserves you way better.
Don't get me wrong. Idm dark bl. Infact I've definitely read and enjoyed darker ones. But this was just straight up bull. None of the characters have any depth. The ml is an insufferable and deranged asshole. And the mc... just made me feel the weirdest mix of pity and second hand embarrassment.
