Small rant warning: I hate some of the closed minded lines in manhwa sometimes (even the ones that are just there to fill in background character lines for the story). I know I am raging about something not significant to the story but one of the lines made by a background character was ”There is no such thing as friendship between men and women” and it made me so frustrated cause what the hell? that is so misogynistic and closed minded, who even thinks like that? Of course I have seen way worse but it is still horrible to say and not true at all Σ(っ°Д °;)っ. The bigger point is that it makes human lives seem insignificant, as if people are just in a market for romance instead of living their lives.
I totally agree with you because that saying makes it seem like every straight friendship between a man and a woman is the pre-stage to a relationship. These kinds of lines seem okay to read in passing, but it's important to think them through. I don't think this reflects the author's own beliefs and that it's just in the character, but still I find them pretty misogynistic and two steps away from Bioessentialism.

Ok but have you never been told this in your face before? This is simply a projection of how society is. A lot of people still believe that men and women can not have a simple friendship. Think of the bigger picture here because you can clearly see Ian proving them wrong.
There is friendship between men and women, but if you look at studies it's something like 50% of men want to be with their lady friends. So the sentiment has some merit. But it's untrue as an absolute statement, which bother me too.
In another manga, mc and Lee Muhan should have been together, their backstory is so sad and they could totally be lovers. I still want mc to be with the three Mugos of course, but I would love a side story AU with mc and Lee Muhan being together, I feel so sad for them

that's kind of what I was thinking, I'd be much more pissed if I was in Seok's position because Kwak is literally dictating his decisions, but as it is I don't think Seok cares about that, technically Kwak's intentions weren't bad, so that's probably why he wasn't upset. I was soooo annoyed during those chapters though
