People treat this story like a standard "boys love" in which the focus is when they fall in love and it ends. Everyone goes on and on about the amount of misunderstandings without completely knowing and understanding the purpose of those misunderstandings simply because the comments just want them to fall in love and have a perfect relationship. Half of the time they aren't even misunderstandings, and everyone talks about how their lack of communication is proof of bad writing but I believe that kind of miscommunication is what makes this GOOD writing! It would be bad writing IF the story was focused on perfecting their relationship because it would use those moments of misunderstandings to be excuses to avoiding writing the characters, HOWEVER this story's main focus is not WHEN they will fall in love with eachother, but rather WHAT makes their love for eachother REAL? It dives into this deep topic through their main concept, the "Names." The names are introduced to us as "fated pairs" similar to soulmates. HOWEVER, The ML of this story challenges that precedent through testing our MC. Our MC is someone with a named partner but he doesn't know it, while the ML knows the truth. The ML uses that opportunity to test the effects of the Name, because he wants to find out if the Name actually affects a person, or if it was a placebo effect created by the expectations of society. So he uses MC as a way to finally find out the truth (he even explicitly states that their entire relationship is an experiment). He believes the MC and the "name" as seperate entities that constantly battle for control, in which the story aims to prove false by showing us MC's perspective. If the ML tells the MC that he has a named pair and that he is the one, it would ruin his experiment. And that is what the story is building up to, and it wants the readers to feel the impact of that eventual event through these situations between them. This is what makes the story (as of now at 37 chapters) good. It's building up to that eventual climax. It's a story that basically focuses on nature vs nurture. Is it in their nature to fall in love with their fated pairs, or was it nurtured by society for them to fall in love? Will the love between them be because they actually love eachother, or because society deems it so? That's the question that will (hopefully) be answered.
