Like I genuinely don’t get it like I’m puzzled why did ain tricked Michel
Like is it to test him like if he’s a good person or not?
Spoiler: Ian did it because he wanted to know why his mother had cherished Ian’s father so much when they we’re just a passing fling during a few winter nights. Also, Ian had every intention of killing Michele, but he fell in love with Michele’s charm and the fact that he was unlike any of the nobles Ian hates with all his heart. Even so, Ian deceives himself about why he didn’t kill Michele, and as far as I’ve read in the novel, he doesn’t admit that he loves him. He just thinks of him as a whim or a pet.
