He could've atleast given him a heads up likeee i feel like both of them should be willing to make compromises for each other or else its just not gonna work.
Garam should try to match jaehyuk's pace and jaehyuk needs to understand and also be able to respect garam's wishes. Atleast minimum efforts from both sides is needed.
Don't even get me started on the lack of proper communication.
You are failing to see that the problem here is not Jaehyuk, it is actually Garam. Both of them want different things in their relationships (one wants a private one because he is a closeted gay, the other one wants a normal public one because he hasn’t faced any discrimination nor homophobia), and while Jaehyuk ends up understanding it after seeing it took a toll on Garam’s body (Garam’s fault because dude, it’s your body, take better care of yourself, don’t let it get worse, you are old enough to look out for yourself?????), Garam’s doesn’t see the effort it took Jaehyuk to make this decision of distancing himself. Why would you look for someone you told multiple times to get away from you? What heads up would you give to someone who clearly doesn’t want to be with you?? Jaehyuk has done enough accepting, catering to Garam’s wants and needs and honestly giving in to Garam every single time. While that’s completely right, it has also given Garam this false sense of security, this kind of “pull” he thinks he has towards Jaehyuk. Garam thinks Jaehyuk is always gonna be there, that’s why he doesn’t care that he is resorting to manipulation (he leaves their house when Jaehyuk says that he wants this and that, he runs away from Jaehyuk and tells him to stay away, and after Jaehyuk does that, he is looking desperately for him, like what??? You can see it on Garam’s face after Jaehyuk doesn’t insist on taking him to rest on their apartment, like “why isn’t him insisting on taking me back home??”) to get Jaehyuk to accept the way in which he wants this relationship to go (Jaehyuk also fd it up big time, multiple times, but this one thing is entirely Garam’s fault; I hope both of them just break up and heal because this is pure madness atp)
umm i think we both are equally frustrated by the course of the story and i do understand but u might hv misunderstood my opinion on jaehyuk not giving a heads up and misreading it as me defending garam in this situation. So just to clarify what i wanted to relay was that jaehyuk chose the most damaging way to create distance. Going abroad is not just staying away its a whole different circumstance. Garam would've gotten the closure he needed there if he atleast had an idea about it and heard abt it from jaehyuk himself. Finding out your said partner just moved abroad to respect ur wish is way worse than that. It wasnt abt him ignoring garam's wishes but abt how he decided to deal with it.
Next abt garam not taking care of himself because of his personal irresponsibility. This is where your arguement falters because the rest i do kinda agree with. You can't just tell someone to "take better care of yourself" if that would've been the case nobody would be suffering frm any physical or mental healt issues ever. If the situation that led them to this state remains unaddressed he mostly wont able to bounce back.It was kinda insensitive of u to think that way. (Im not trying to insult u im just putting my opinion and case forward)
While i do agree with garam's fears and him trying to keep evrything private because of the social consequences, stigma and no whatsoever protection in korea against queer ppl it does not validate his actions. Wanting to stay protected frm the hostile environment and using that as an excuse to never decide what u actually want is whts wrong. He wants an outcome without actually ever trying to fight through it.
Jaehyuk did his part and came out on the other side garam still has to catch up. He has shown commendable growth in terms of character. Garam still has to unlearn fear to actually start loving him. They are both at a mid process of sorts. This does not mean one of them is a villain. Although garam comparatively does hv more on his plate to get over and come to terms with and so the compromiseon his side has to be more. They could work it out together only if they stop failing each other at moments that matter the most. And those moments come down to proper communication. All of the arguments you proposed of manipulation, false sense of security, body breaking down everything boils down to "if only they just talked it out properly". That was my conclusion frm the start.
While both of us are trying to decide who's more at fault and who's actions are to blame, at the end of the day both of em are operating frm pain and unresolved personal growth (in jaehyuk and garam's case respectively). How this is addressed is the deciding factor on how their relationship progresses further.
I agree with everything except the going abroad part and the taking care of his body. It’s clear that they are no longer dating, and therefore, giving Garam’s previous course of action, there is no need to let him know about what Jaehyuk does with his life. What he feels about Jaehyuk leaving it’s up to him, there is no need for emotional responsibility atp because they are quite literally nothing anymore. They left things hanging there. Also, the body thing is obvious only in Garam’s situation, because if you look at previous chapters, he was already suffering a mild pain that he failed to properly address, so of course anyone with common sense would say it is Garam’s fault, like ??? He saw it coming, and let it get worse until he had to be rushed to the ER by someone else lol Lastly, of course the situation is gonna remain unaddressed if both parties don’t want to discuss what’s going on, running away, leaving without saying anything and becoming defensive about every single little thing (also staying silent for hours during a phone call lol). Conclusion is, again: break up definitively, leave the relationship definitively, heal your traumas and deal with your problems before engaging in anything related to love with anyone.
hmmm i see where u are coming frm and while i do agree with ur opinion on jaehyuk going abroad to a certain degree, i would still like to stand by garam not being in the wrong for not going to see a professional earlier. Smtimes its just hard to bring urself to do that but hey u also stand corrected in ur stance. So well i accept that there might be sm differences in our opinion on this particular thing and thats completely fine. Both are right in their own ways. In the end gurl i am SO with u for them not continuing with their "relationship" cuz imma be fr if this was irl or even a frnd of mine aint no way im letting them stay tgther after literally evrything that has happened. Like it feels so forced frm the author's side. Their case is beyond helping atp and wtvr the outcome be i bet if they ever are going to happy being tgther like this. So yeeee lol your conclusion remains true :DD
Lmao yes, I agree BWAHAHAHAHA I would’ve grab my friend by their collar and tell them to get tf outta there, cuz ain’t no way you are suffering all this while doing all that to them and still come here to ask for opinions: LEAVE THEM. Author is just extending the plot unnecessarily atp, they didn’t like a healthy happy relationship, they wanted angst to sell better xddd
