FL really reflects how I felt abt studies in high school and even academics in general. I am not the younger sibling but eldest of three so it's a bit different in ways but i have a father who has been a state topper in hs and even attended the top uni in the country so it's a similar feeling.
Ml was such a ragebait for me like perfect MLs, even more so in this case, pmo so bad unless they are executed well. like wdym u are good at everything without even trying. I've met those kinds irl too and it's not as annoying as how I felt in the first few chs of this manga lol.
My problem was he was trying to advice her and concerning himself w her struggles when he clearly doesn't know her. Yeah, it's true she's so focused on smth that's eating her whole life up and she's not getting to enjoy the happiness in little things but he just had to be the pin proper perfect guy who has a reputation and position exactly like her brother. Lol, it's just me trauma bonding w fl so just had to rant.
Ngl, this could've been executed sm better if they prioritised building on fl's mental health. Her thing w family didn't even get addressed properly. Just a simple "I am glad u are enjoying school". Umm, it wasn't just abt that and i doubt she has overcome her mental struggles. Dating a guy doesn't magically fix the situation.

I asked for angst recommendations nd someone suggested this. So here I was expecting a story w ur normal angsty trope that later resolves the shit nd we get a happy ending. but not even half way thru the story, I was like bruh no way there'll be a redemption arc. Hating on the ml was a given, but smhw midway thru i literally lost all emotions towards that guy, he's just that distasteful. The fl turning mad and then ml too actually seemed so valid. That poisoning scene towards the end actually just probed into how broken both of them turned. This is actually how a broken character looks like. Also appreciate ml not getting forgiven.
Plot is 7.5/10. Each new character in the story successfully got added to my headache.
About the execution of the plot 3/10. I hoped they explained a bit more of the parts involving the supporting characters. Barely connected w Sergey who was such a major plot point, I couldn't even form a opinion on him nd he was already killed. Same w the baroness arc, she just forgot Abt her vengeance? Like?? Also emphasis around incident like the death of the emperor nd count seemed undermined. Weren't those two the creator of this entire shithole?
Abt the ending, it's accurate and exactly what was coming. I will just pretend the part having ml getting to redo everything is just a dream or perhaps it actually is.
