Right, I forgot that in Chapter 1 he’s strangling him God... well, maybe he doesn't betray him, but they do get mad at each other later for lying. Theo gets angry because Richard is friends with the old guy who killed his parents, and Richard gets angry because Theo—of all people—goes and picks a fight with the most dangerous/annoying guy in the county LOL dragging him into trouble when he’d made it clear he wanted a quiet life.
