The premise wasn't good. The fact that ML caught his girlfriend cheating and proceeded to cheat back with the excuse of learning how to please said cheating girlfriend is just bad.
We didn't know that she wanted to break up with him and all that until very recently.

Regardless of how nice the dom sub dynamics might be, the premise ruins it. It wouldn't have made the story any less fun if ML had just approached MC because he was curious about bdsm. We didn't need the whole thing with the girlfriend and it would've made the story more palatable

plus the way he manipulated MC to bottom and be the sub, knowing he was exclusively a top/dom, after making it clear that he himself wasn't willing to bottom
