It’s a bit fast, everything seems to happen at one time and then it’s over. I don’t really understand why the ML went to jail either- like the “brother” had killed his parents and had tried to kill the ML, and given the last abuse to the MC how could they not get him off for self-defense?
I think it just depends on the country. Kind of like women who end up killing their abusers when they're "out of immediate danger" -like when he's asleep or turned away- are still charged with murder. In other countries (I think mostly EU and Asia) they penalize defending yourself or expect you to use minimal/equal force or smth like that.
