I’m being thinking this for a while and somehow personally I’m kinda don’t like Rian and Enzo as a couple sometimes. I like their enemies dynamics, their personalities and the overall story, well the first season at least, and they have their moments. But this season I was more interested in the agent and mafia plot than their love progression. The way it was handled was kinda off to me. And I know I am in the minority.
The whole coerce moments and rape scene made me question how they would handle them interacting again. It’s not the first time I seen sexual assault in a story and I know a lot of yaoi mangas have it. And I have read more depressing and darker manga. But whenever an author goes the whole rape scene direction I always find it difficult to believe that the two leads can just fall in love and have a relationship afterwards. I guess it depends on how the story develops their relationship and interactions, but in this case I am leaning more into the I can’t take it seriously.
Like Rain was raped a couple chapters ago, not that long ago I think, and they didn’t have that many interactions for the whole thing to be forgotten? Rian even called it rape in his mind if I remember, or something similar. He then acted unbothered for the next chapters but in the recent ones he called Enzo after the gotcha moment not only to sleep with him but get even. The thing that made him soft was the while scars in Enzo back and him not wanting to be the same as him.
And now they’re doing this whole “teach me how” ( which seems like Enzo is playing along even if he’s somewhat excited about the whole thing) and being weak to pretty faces. I just find it silly? Like I find the whole progress of their relationship the same as any toxic yoai where the mc is sexually assaulted but because the ml is good looking and good at sex it just becomes a none issue. Which okey I guess, personally I think it’s an overused and badly written theme . I’s fiction at the end of the day, I’m not gonna condemn the story or whatever, but I definitely seeing it as any other toxic typical yoai manga romance and my view on it’s writing goes down if that makes sense?
Sorry for the long post and rambling. English isn’t my first language so I don’t know if I made sense.
i totally get what you mean. i mean i guess rian is supposed to come off as laid-back and like, he has his own big mastermind plan which is why he doesn't care about the "rape" but still... I feel that this story started off weak with their dynamic, like you said. it felt like not too long ago, lorenzo was literally a complete psychopath and now he feels more toned down, out of nowhere. something about how it's progressing just feels off. hmm idk
anyway i really liked your comment because it put into words exactly what i had been thinking!

and just to clarify, i agree with the fact that it's basically just a toxic yaoi that feels like it's being sugar-coated to come off as less toxic and make the ml seem better...
Just because you have a different POV doesn't mean your take isn't valid.
This is just my understanding.
Rian approached Enzo with a motive, and Enzo knew that, hence the forced sex/rape scene. As per Enzo, it was Rian's punishment for him. Uno even acknowledged that it was rape. He was the top agent in Vulture and was known for his honey trap style. He sleeps with his target to get information, so Enzo was no different. Rian was always the TOP ever since Red Candy— he was the 2nd ML there. Maybe that's the reason why he wants to teach Enzo some manners in bed. Some readers claim Rian is a red flag, but I always see him as a green flag. He never forced himself on anyone, even on Candy—his first love.

I guess it’s something like that? This isn’t like a fluffy yaoi manga but it’s not exactly a dark thriller either, I see it more action at times since it doesn’t actually go deep into the whole dark mafia thing for me. So I don’t expect a good soft guy ml but it feels to me like the whole assault was just overlooked and unimportant so it feels kinda unnecessary? Like it doesn’t use it to go into darker themes or emotions, is just there and done. I think I’m just overthinking, but thanks for your thoughts.

I understand the sequence of events, i just find the logic a little silly? If the whole assault didn’t happen I would find this scene flirty and all that but if I start thinking too much it seems off. Like the idea that Rian that was assaulted would teach the person that assaulted him, Enzo, how to have manners in sex is strange to me ( specifically since Enzo has had lovers before and did state in the other sex scene that it was dominating not sex or something. I have doubts is gonna go the whole can’t pleasure Rian properly unless he is taught).
I did vaguely remember at the start of this manga some comments and stuff about Rian deserving this or people wanting to see Rian cry because of his sleeping around flirty habits or because he is cute or something. The whole flag thing isn’t something i use since it simplifies a character. But I can’t see Rian as a red flag in anyway? He just does honey traps to people that probably wanted a one night stand and gets information. People sleeping around isn’t something bad, specifically if they aren’t in a relationship. And I feel you can’t compare Rian to the level of stuff Enzo does. But thanks for thoughts and sorry for the rambling.

You've put it perfectly, I thought it felt very inconsistent too

I still don’t know if i used the right words or explained myself correctly but thanks.
