She probably wanted Shinpei to move on or find someone better or something (how women think sometimes when they have a good or fair breakup) plus to something positive, I'm glad Shinpei changed into a better man , and Satoko being healthy now. Them seeing eachother as old would make a wholesome side story. Because old people couples tend to be the most loveliest couples in the world
