Hey guys buckle up because this is about to be a VERY long rant.

First of all I give this story ZERO stars, it was absolutely horrible/horrendous, unfortunately this will not be a full review because I could not find it in me to keep reading.

TW: Rape, Assault

Okay so in the first few chapters it is immediately established that the mc (Yeonwoo) was raped by the ml (Keith) at some point, and then the story is like, “Okay let’s go back to the beginning.” Idk even know why I kept reading after that considering that I already knew that Yeonwoo is going to be assaulted by his love interest.

So Yeonwoo plans a party for Keith because he’s his secretary- can I just say for a second how much I absolutely hate power imbalances such as this? Reading the rest of this, you’ll see that the power imbalance is the least of our issues, but for the record I want to say that power imbalances are a lot harder to read and write as a good romance because of the underlaying feeling of coercion. This story is a prime example of that.

Anyway, Yeonwoo is at the party when he goes down to see where all the guest were since they suddenly disappeared. I should mention, the party is full of extreme alphas, Keith being one of them, think regular alphas on crack. So Yeonwoo sees a girl come out of the room with Keith and she’s disrespecting him like crazy already, like seriously where are her manners?? Calling him things like a slut and that all he wants is to sleep with Keith.

Yeonwoo does have a crush on Keith because he’s super hot apparently- AND DID I MENTION, KEITH IS THE WHOLE REASON YEONWOO IS AN OMEGA!!!

One day when Yeonwoo saw Keith for the first time playing some sport at their uni, Keith took the hit for him when a ball was flying past, and when Yeonwoo went to go check on him in the infirmary, Keith starts feeling him up and kissing him immediately. Then, after doing something Yeonwoo literally didn’t ask or consent to, he pushes Yeonwoo off and throws him to the floor, saying, “I didn’t realize you were a dude, disgusting.”

Yeah. Keith is super homophobic. Idek why Yeonwoo likes him.

But, anyway, at that party Yeonwoo is RAPED by someone, three people grab him and tell him he’ll enjoy it after a while and force him to do explicit things. After he bites one of their appendages, he wakes up and Keith is there. He starts apologizing for not being careful (!! Which is already crazy because bby why are you apologizing for being raped) and Keith tells him he should have just taken it instead of making a fuss??? Are you freaking kidding me???? Wth is wrong with that person.


Yeonwoo is obviously mad and he quits (yay) but comes back a few days later after Keith shows up and hires him again. He still has ptsd and struggles with basic tasks like driving and going outside, and can’t handle anyone’s pheromones but Keith’s. Keith offers to let him stay at his house to expose him to pheromones and things when Yeonwoo says he might have to quit because of his health issues.

While this arrangement is happening, many different things happen. First of all, Yeonwoo is raped and harassed on multiple different occasions by Keith when he explicitly mentions that he does not want to engage in sexual activities. Keith also undermines his identity as an omega and makes rude, coercive, and sexist comments on his body, and how all omegas just want to crack. Keith is also incredibly homophobic and makes numerous comments on how disgusting he finds Yeonwoo, how he’ll never find him desirable, how he would have done things with him if he were a girl

Eventually they normally have sex as a routine thing and Keith gets over his homophobia, even though there are a lot of coercive elements to their sexual activities, it’s consensual for the most part. Then Yeonwoo is sick for a little bit (this is after Keith got him a gift and Yeonwoo told him he loved him) and Yeonwoo sees him kissing someone else with some crackpot excuse like I couldn’t wait for you?? Yeonwoo realizes his worth and leaves, he moves out of the house and says that their relationship will now be a purely professional one. Then guess what happens????

Keith forces his way into Yeonwoo’s house while drunk and rapes him…

Fuck you Keith

Yeonwoo marked Keith that night in the spur of the moment, and Keith had no memory of what happened. Eventually, Yeonwoo decides to run away after learning he’s pregnant and spikes Keith’s drink to knock him out after telling him who marked him (Yeonwoo).

A lot of people say they liked Charles the butler, but I feel like all the other characters in this story (outside of Emma and Joshua and Dean) failed Yeonwoo, because they stood by and let the abuse happen.

Yeonwoo decided to keep the baby and is staying with Joshua (Coworker/Friend’s Omega brother who also had a baby)‘s friend. Keith find him, takes him.

I forgot to mention but at some point when Keith is forcing Yeonwoo to kiss him in the hopes of raping him, Yeonwoo bites his nerves on his wrist in self harm to try and escape. And this is the love interest.

So eventually when they were in the car (Yeonwoo was being kept near Keith against his wishes) there was an attack and Yeonwoo pushed Keith out of the way of an incoming landslide to protect him.

And here’s the scene that really made me cry: While Yeonwoo is on the brink of death, he apologizes to Keith and tells him that he’s sorry to mark him without his consent, and that Keith’ll be free once Yeonwoo dies. He also thinks that this is his atonement for marking Keith without Keith’s consent. Keith has raped him multiple times with no apology or effort to fix things while Yeonwoo accepts death because he is ashamed of doing an unconsentual marking. He didn’t deserve any of it.

More horrible stuff happens blah blah. Emma complains to Yeonwoo about what a horrible boss Keith is, and the story tries to paint it like, “Oh look how he lost his composure just for you,” but it’s really just giving terrible, incompetent, disrespectful boss. Charles is like, “Don’t ever disappear or get sick again,” in the sense of we don’t want Keith to get like that, BOY HOW ABOUT YOU WORRY ABOUT THIS LITERAL CRIME TAKING PLACE IN FRONT OF YOU RIGHT NOW INSTEAD OF THE STATE OF THE DAMN COMPANY. My god.

It was all just so horrible. There’s more I have to say but nothing good so I’ll end it here with this: there was a scene where Yeonwoo is comforting Keith who’s scared about the former never loving him again and running away, and Yeonwoo says isn’t this what love is? And all I can think is oh you poor baby life has failed you, love is meant to be strong, and soft, and comforting, and nice, and lift you when you’re down and applaud you when you fly. Everyone has failed Yeonwoo in this story and I cry for the fate of other people trapped in horrible relationships thinking that the way they’re treated is love.

I will never blame Yeonwoo for staying because the only person that tried to help him was himself, and everyone treated Keith’s behaviour like no big deal. Not a single time did anyone comfort Yeonwoo, dry his tears, or tell him that it was not his fault. Yeonwoo truly believed he loved Keith, and that is because of the abuse he endured transforming his mind. It is not his own thinking that led him to the actions he had.

Guys I did NOT like the way their romantic progression started when Taehyeon or smth was cursing him out and kissing him and treating him badly it was so coercive and I didn’t really see any acknowledgement of how it was bad outside of a quick panel, I really felt bad for Hyeonbeon or smth in that scene Taehyeon’s bad situation makes it understandable why he did that even if it wasn’t okay, but I still wish there was some kind of closure or anything that could have repaired their relationship or I wish that plot point just never happened the rest of the story after the climax was cute and all but a bit of actual plot addressing their coming out to his parents and more would have been nice, the story was a little flat as well but not too shabby for a debut story (sorry that there’s no punctuation lol)
