I liked The Case files of jeweler Richard, there’s the original novel series, the anime and the manga.
It seems like the novel does end with the main character’s getting together officially, but it’s not really a romance story and the anime definitely doesn’t have romance.
I was desperately trying to remember the name, thanks! Another vote for this from me
