i am so,,, so tired of rich, insufferable, smug and forceful MLs. i read up to ch 16, and just couldn’t do it. why doesn’t anyone else see this is SA and rape? he says no, the ML forces. because MC ends up ‘enjoying’ some part of it after being relentlessly grabbed, tugged around, and coerced, it’s seen as just sex. gross and unforgivable. he even kicks away ML at some point, and he still continues. so SICK and TIRED of this type of ML!!! toxic stuff can exist but there are much better ways to go about it instead of playing it off like it’s normal

this is fair BUT wouldn’t say they’re the same ! i did find ML aggravating in that too, but the story itself is richer and has much more of a plot. the storyline has a purpose beyond watching two hot people get at it in bed. the tone of the story is darker in general with parts of comedy in it. the sexual tension is a tool of power dynamics for the sake of accentuating MC’s one-minded desperation to get revenge at any cost ! MC also is using ML for his goal (which he does so willingly) so there is a give and take relationship. the side stories fill out the rougher parts of their relationship. i see a lot of things about the cute story later on, but Payback never turned me off to a point where I couldn’t read it, and definitely not so early in the story. i mean, this was like every other chapter they can be similar in some aspects but i would never compare them
