Why are people so disgusted when "harem" or "romance" is mentioned in a story even if its just briefly or doesnt affect the story at all? I get that its supposed to be a action/fantasy genre but whats supposed to happen after the mc beat everything. you already like the story but suddenly ur turned off because "harem/romance" exist? i genuinely dont understand.
From personal point, romance in action stories is rarely well done. A lot of times it feels forced or one dimensional. Same or even worse with harem, cause usually harem is just a prop for MC, for lame gag jokes, or bad fanservice. Action stories with Well done romance or harem is so rare, that it is easier just to abandon story when an unwelcome signs shows.
+ most manhwa already show the heroine in the very beginning of chapters, like under 10 chaps lol, that's when you know the story is gonna be trash. author will trying so hard to make some girl stick with mc in early chapter just to be the end game, it's not natural at all. as an action reader the only romance i can tolerate was solo leveling and orv, i also still hate tbate romance so much till this day

Well for me, orv romance is from other characters not MC, so I didn't even mention it here. Personally I think that Legend of the Northern Blade romance were done pretty good
They believe that adding harem detracts from the story as a whole and turns into self fulfillment from the author.
Which is wrong BTW, you're already reading OP protagonist, I don't know what you were expecting. And the story is just fine. Adding romance or harem doesn't detract from this one, specially since the protagonist seems to be hung up with his last love.

I think it's just natural that girls admire him just like how girls their age admire boys that excels in reality? I don't see it as a harem at all, it feels real and natural
