I can tell the author was really trying with Luca's character and did put in the work to research the Maasai and Kenya. But some aspects still feels exploitative, yanno? Tall black boy with a big dick and piece-y hair because the author can't figure out how to draw natural hair consistently. I think that is so jarring especially because their line work is good. Like dang, it probably would have looked nice to take those pieces and define them into braids or twists. Instead he has "anime hair that looks like locs if you squint."

Welp last 20 chapters were rushed to high hell. They basically chose to speed run the story and finish it rather than being cancelled. The plot is difficult to understand, there's a war and a time skip and a flash back/vision but the characters in the flashback look exactly like the current day characters because it's all rushed.
