Maybe I'm just dumb but who is Arne's father again? Was it the emperor? But if he was, then why is her mother a duchess and not an empress. It can't be Duke Sarno since Arne calls her Uncle. Or was it mentioned that he's dead? also her mother was the one seating at the chair assigned for head of the household during the flashback so there was no father in sight.
The emperor is just her uncle, however he proclaimed Arne as a princess. There's no details that mentioned about her father.
And based on their hair colours, Arne's mother and the emperor might be siblings.
