In Monday's Saviour, the romance feels natural and genuinely fluttering. Here, however, every single romantic moment feels suffocating because it is built entirely on manipulation and grooming.
The uke is left utterly helpless, isolated, and psychologically engineered to depend solely on the only person he has known since childhood, while the seme acts as if he’s some kind of savior, when in reality, he is the warden locking the golden cage.
For readers who haven't read the main story, they might find it fine—just another edgy dark-romance fiction. But for those of us who read the main story, it hits differently. (We are forced to watch the 'ideal older brother' we respected in Monday's Saviour crumble into an obsessive monster ruining his own younger brother).

But now we now the issues run in the family. The father seems just as bad as the sons.

Though this is worse than the main story, which is also far from healthy, but at least both sides are adults close in age.

It's cool that we hate the same character. I'm going to binge-read this once it's completed.

Please remove Shoujo from the genre options. Not everyone who likes Shoujo is interested in the Yaoi genre

    Vee May 3, 2026 12:53 pm

Just because you don’t like Yaoi doesn’t mean it’s not a shoujo still. It’s marked as yaoi too so that means just don’t read it

    Fudanshi-kun May 12, 2026 8:19 pm

Shoujo as a genre is stuff thats aimed at a younger female audience, the same demographic as what yaoi has. Ur comment just reeks of homophobia honestly so i wont say anything further

Ik everybody mad but I agree. This don’t give shoujo. I thought shoujo was shit like your lie in April and ahit for 8-18 y.o. This ain’t for them idgaf

Yes, tags coexist, but the main purpose of genre filtering is to exclude content you don’t want to see. When someone filters by "Shoujo," 99% of the time they are looking for traditional hetero romance aimed at young girls. Mixing Yaoi into the general Shoujo tag completely breaks the filtering efficiency. If users wanted Yaoi, they would literally just check the "Yaoi/BL" tag. Keeping them separate prevents baiting.

Equating Shoujo to Yaoi just because they "share a female demographic" is a massive logical leap. Shoujo is a specific demographic target for mainstream younger audiences. Yaoi/BL is an explicit thematic subgenre that focuses on male-male romance, which often contains mature themes not suitable for the general Shoujo age bracket. Wanting clean, organized database filters so people don't accidentally scroll into a genre they don't read isn't "homophobia"—it’s just wanting a basic, functional user experience. Drop the unnecessary labels.

Exactly! Thank you. The vibe is just completely different, and it doesn't fit what people are actually looking for when they check the Shoujo section.
Also, just a fun fact, Your Lie in April is actually a Shounen! But I totally get your point—mainstream titles like that, or Ao Haru Ride and Fruits Basket, have that classic, pure demographic feel that belongs in these categories, unlike explicit Yaoi/BL. Filters really need to be fixed for better user experience.

Same I agree like it would be OK if something like love is an illusion superstar had shoujo tag or something. That’s light and It’s just teenage boys falling in love but this is way too explicit I understand you! And thank you for the fun fact you’re so cute!!

Ratna April 21, 2026 1:58 pm

I love older seme (mature)

Ratna April 21, 2026 10:09 am

Don't get it twisted—the one who looks like the victim now (Jiwook) is actually the monster from the past who 'forgot' what he did. It's basically a story about a victim (Jiyeon) turning into a total devil just to get the perfect revenge. Absolute Cinema

i found out because of your comment, since I usually don’t read them, so I was a bit taken aback… But well, even if it depends on what he did, he could for sure deserve it

I just noticed it wasn’t you who wrote the first comment, anyway I found out thanks to the one that wrote it, if I didn’t I probably wouldn’t have known until the backstories in the manhwa
