This whole story is about the hypocrisy of the righteous sects that allow corrupt and evil things to occur and still put on an innocent face. The whole political drama is happening because of corruption they participated in or knowingly turned a blind eye to. The demonic sect knows what it’s about and the sect leader holds them to it, harshly. He believes in people getting revenge and standing their ground, even going as far as telling moonpyeong that if he was mad about all the assault then to kill him, that’s what he did. He’s a little fucked up but he’s consistent in his actions. Also idk if people just don’t read the chapters that are not smut but he’s wearing his martial nephew’s face because he can’t be seen, and because his reputation is pristine. (Going back to the themes of righteous people not being what they seem)
If you’re so bothered by the child, he’s only in this for a few more chapters and then doesn’t show up until the extras around ten years after the story takes place.
