PLEASE, I need a novel reader to tell me about the ending, honestly this story is starting to get really triggering and im not sure I can keep up with this anymore. Is there a happy ending?? and I mean a HAPPY one. Does Riftan stop being toxic? Because at least the father is depicted just as how he is: a terrible person. But Riftan is the ML and the person who's supposed to bring health (specially emotional and mental health) to the FL so I if his behaviour is going to keep being like this for the rest of the story I'm just going to drop this... His anger issues are REALLY GODDAMN SERIOUS and god he is the text-book example of a emotional abuser, the ONLY TIMES he treats the FL "good" is either when he is being possessive as fuck or when he is horny as fuck. He keeps trying to isolate the FL from everything and making her feel miserable in the process and some might think: "oh but he's just doing that because he cares so much for her and wants to protect her from everything and keep her happy and he just doesn't know better" but that'll NEVER be a valid explanation to a behavior like his. That's an abusive behaviour and no amount of backstory will EVER explain it. Does he redeem himself?? Does he at some point starts understanding and learning how to care for the person he "loves"? Does he stop isolating her? Does he deal with his anger issues? I don't need (and the FL doesn't either) a redemption arc in which he sees himself as a terrible person and tries to abandon the FL (he already did that tho) I just need him to get his shit straight and start ACTING and TREATING his wife as the grown up adult she is. The amount of misogyny in this story is wild, but that's understandable, that's just how society was, but at least I expect the ML to stop undermining his wife as just "a poor and fragile noblewoman" who he needs to "protect at all costs" and "dress lavishly in silks and jewels" because that just makes me sick. I'm sorry for the rant lol I needed to get this out of my chest.
