I like the dynamic that Garam and Walter have a lot, and I think it’d be interesting if they actually had a relationship. I’m fine with Heejae and Garam, but I would rather Heejae figure out himself a bit more. I’m not the biggest fan of how he acts sometimes.
The new chapters are just uncomfortable. It’s brainwashing and basically torture. I haven’t read the novel, so please don’t bash me. It’s not cute the fact that Jiwook is now submissive because he’s traumatized and had to go through something that apparently Juyeon went through too. If anyone went through this in real life who read this Manhwa, you’d have way different opinions. I think it’s mainly because of the edgelords and rape fetishes. Who knows?
People are just admitting here that they like disgusting things, and it kind of embarrasses me. Both of them are bad people, and revenge wasn’t needed. Especially because this is getting nowhere. If anything, this is going to end with them exactly like this. It’s pitiful.

Obviously it’s not cute but this isn’t real life? If this was in real life I’d hope everyone is sensible enough to react differently than this fictional comic meant for entertainment. Like I like the hunger games too but if that happened irl obviously that’s horrific and I would have a different reaction?
Even if it’s not real life, the fact that people are willingly reading and someone made such a gruesome story with such disgusting topics, it’s not for entertainment. It’s fetishized rape. It just seems as if toxic and horrible environments are “sexy” and “good reads” nowadays just because it’s Yaoi. I just don’t enjoy that. I’m only reading this because I am uncomfortable and want to see them rot, and the translator notes are funny.

The fact that I got a response explaining that it wasn’t as important because it was fictional made me feel that way. I see where you’re coming from but this is one of the only “toxic yaoi” trope manhwas I can actually read because it somewhat actually takes it seriously and where actions actually clearly effect the characters and aren’t just brushed off as “haha smut” devices. I only mentioned the real life aspect because you brought it up in your og comment lmfao, since you said “if anyone saw this irl… etc.” and that isn’t a fair comparison at all :/
I understand where you’re coming from. And I’m sorry if my point seemed illogical or rude. I brought it up as I’ve seen a few comments from way back and on other platforms about it, which I understand now wasn’t a fair claim. My opinion mainly is I think this isn’t the best Manhwa, but I won’t judge people for their opinion on it unless it clearly shows that they have a fetish for seeing rape. Many other people have made that comparison, so I decided to bring it up too as I’ve seen unfair comparisons towards such aspects in this story and how it’s spoken about compared to actual things. I’m sorry if it seemed wrong or something, and I’m all for getting informed.
No it wasn’t rude, I just think it was a miscommunication both ways on what was being said. I agree I’ve also seen people (probably children ngl who shouldn’t be reading this anyways) act the way you described towards it. It is smut, and for entertainment, which can be criticized obviously, but I feel like categorizing it in the same bucket as some others of this trope is not fair to it since the comic itself (even though it is mainly smut) does portray it as something serious which how the characters approach it, consequences, and also how it acknowledges how victims are too ashamed to come out and how the police won’t help. Other things I’ve read I can’t really stand because the other comics treat the assault as some passing thing that just happened but doesn’t really have an impact on the stories, characters, or anything deeper than just some fetish like u were talking about
That seems exactly right! I understand this comic has such topics, and it’s not the brightest thing ever, but I do believe it does show consequences of actions well. The fact that Jiwook is now scared to do anything is something I believe would be realistic. This story isn’t the best in my opinion, but hearing how you share your thoughts has made me think a bit differently. I don’t like other comics that disregard rape either. It shouldn’t just be a passing action, otherwise it shouldn’t have been apart of the story at all. Thank you for commenting on this, I’ve enjoyed having this discussion.
