Some people forget that her cultural background is Korean, where filial piety runs deep in her blood. It might seems frustrating why she chose to go back to her world when her mom didn’t even show any affection towards her, unfortunately the guilt of being an unfilial child overcome her guilt of being a bad wife and mother. I’m not Korean but I grew up in a similar background, that’s why I kinda sympathize with her.
Anyway, I think guilt is the central, driving emotion for FL. She felt guilty for not being a good child, a good partner, and a good mother. Hence, guilt is part of her atonement (even though it’s already beyond repair).
