I like that the story focuses more on bonds/family over the typical power fantasy route
I’m guessing present day Adrian will find out it’s her through her handwriting
Why did mc suddenly freak out at the drain hair in ch 4? Idk what I’m looking at in her hand
I’m wondering if MC got infected in the end (smiling like Hikita) during ch 4? Maybe her dream of Kiwako pushing her down was actually real and stuff got done to her that she doesn’t remember. I feel like her memory suddenly being blurry that chapter is a red flag.
Or maybe this was supposed to be hella obv and I didn’t cook like I thought I did
wow this story actually had a few moments that made my heart jump. Also, female protag and characters in horror that aren’t sexualized for no reason? Hell yeah
A strong part is the ending. It felt like a proper conclusion and didn’t feel rushed (which is a common problem I see). I can objectively see why the story is likable, but my personal enjoyment just wasn’t that high overall. I liked the side characters a lot more than the main couple (esp og Edith and og rhyse were compelling). Main couple lowkey felt bland.
I think the weakest part of the story is MC falling for ML so early on. He was literally just a hot douche in love with someone else. She had no reason to like him outside of plot necessity and him being hot. Maybe this was done better in the novel idk.
he looks so hot threatening people what’s wrong with me
I haven’t read the side stories of the web novel yet, but she doesn’t end up with anyone. Yuhan and Siwoo are outright love rivals (MC and everyone knows they have feelings for her). MC goes adventuring with them and the gang after saving the world. She’s kinda leaning towards Yuhan but it’s not fully set, so Siwoo is not giving up (i think he warns Yuhan to not get too comfy or he’ll steal MC)
Btw MC turns out to be hard bro-con later, but dw there’s no romance between them and they’re just found family.
Oh yeah and tiger lightning guy was irrelevant at the end ngl. I think the author was initially baiting some development between them but it felt really unnecessary since I don’t even remember him showing up in epilogue.
I feel like the system eventually allowing him to go outside doesn’t quite make sense since he’d no longer be a shut in like his title states. I get it’s for plot reasons, but still… like at least give him a debuff when he’s out or smth
It’s sad ending but the story felt too short for me to get deeply attached and care. Tbf I could just be heartless. Spoiler:

it happened kinda fast. Oh he lived the jump. Then a few panels later oops he died anyway in the future and you didn’t see them interact again. I don’t get the point of a fake out if you’re just gonna kill them off later without much development. Like bruh… I think it had potential if the author was just given more time to flesh out things.
I dropped this early on cause I thought the plot was mid af and only the art was carrying. Was I right or does this get better and it’s worth picking back up?
I like the overall story but it does have aspects that feel thoughtless that I don’t see anyone else mentioning.
You have a story about young girls being exploited and preyed upon, but decide to throw in a shower scene of one of the girls (who is still a minor) with her ass showing at the very beginning of ch 1? And on ch 6 the female detective is working out without pants. At least she is an adult but it serves no purpose outside of fan service, which doesn’t fit the serious tone throughout the entire story. And ch 18 has both girls showering together with their tits showing? I don’t need to explicitly see this to get that they are vulnerable with each other. Now you can try to defend these shower scenes as not inherently sexual, but I’d only believe that if the explicit nudity was only shown outside of the sexual scenes, which isn’t the case. Why do we need more scenes with a minor(s) being naked outside of the SA and sex scenes? Even those abuse scenes could’ve presented better and in a way that’s not sexualizing (let’s not do another Netflix Cuties plz???). It honestly just feels ironic and can take you out of immersion if you think about it.
Ofc this is a widespread issue and honestly the fan service here is def better compared to many other stories (it’s shorter and less frequent), but it’s still a problem and is distasteful considering the serious theme and tone. I can ignore it, but it’s def smth to note before reading.
Btw id someone can give a rec that can portray abuse without doing the same thing and sexualizing the characters, please send.
For novel readers, am I crazy or was the ending revamped? I read it years ago and when I looked up the ending, it was completely diff from what I expected.

Like I remember Mc sacrificing herself, realizing she was actually loved as she’s dying, so she’s finally happy. Crow finally finds her but it’s implied it’s too late to save her and it’s a bittersweet and ambiguous ending where she likely dies happy, but you don’t know if the “time loops” continue or not.
IMO the smut feels more like seinen than josei. It is veryyyy centered on the FL’s body and expressions over the ML. If youre into that tho then this is great.
