Ok so spoilers
The doctor is actually the cause of the constant oni outbreaks everywhere. And the reason why he’s doing that is because he wants to use the deme’s body to make a very powerful oni. Why? Because the seme has a very strong power. Like he’s top 1% strongest eater with great powers, so he wants to put the core of an oni into the body of the seme so his powers can absorb it and combine together making one of the most powerful oni.
Also I can’t even remember but I remember him saying that he don’t like guides at the start, if you remember (oh wait nvm, we haven’t reached there) he started taking care of the seme since highschool because he had a reawakening due to some bullies trying to get at seme, he got angry and got his reawakening that cause a big disaster in the school. So the doctor started taking care of the seme since then. Also since seme himself don’t like guides because they like using and putting the espers on a leash so they can control them and their body and he hates when they do that. So his hate for guides got worse and the doctor supported him as well. But thing is if you remember in the beginning, his present guide(uke) got a test in an abandoned test centre, and that test centre called the doctor letting him know that they have found a match for the seme(esper). Also if you read it, at a point you will see the doctor kept telling the uke that he needs to bond with the seme to be his exclusive guide and that would help the seme get better, but that doctor lied (maybe not fully) but the reason why he kept pressing the uke till they bonded was so that he could use him as bait when the time comes to make the seme become an oni. That test centre had a part in the whole thing too, cuz that test centre was where they were building Uhm (I think they called it a second reactor or sum shi like that) that helped in the production of oni’s.
After the centre or wtv that the seme(esper) works for figured that someone was pulling the strings(doctor) and has someone big backing them up(the government or sum like that, can’t remember) they started looking for him.
But he had already kidnapped the uke and he knew the seme will know that something was wrong. And because the uke has a sleep disorder from past trauma, he kept using that as a (u need therapy and I’ll help you) while putting the words of you need to be bonded to eachother so that the seme can get better. And the uke is a selfless person and just wants to help the seme, so he did everything in his power till they bonded.
Anyways doctor’s shit but he ☠ so everything worked out. But idk maybe it’s just me, it felt a little rushed when it got to the end.

Uhm idk how I feel abt this story. I mean plot is kinda meh, but the most annoying thing here is the flashbacks mid story. Like give them fuck ass flash back like almost the end of season to cause build up or maybe beginning even. Like, somt don’t do that shit mid story and switch back immediately. Cuz that just confuses readers. Speaking for myself rn tho
