Omg as a novel reader, I came just to check the progress and what do u mean 9 years spent on season 1 hshhshs that is like One piece's season 1. Well I'm really happy with the adaptation and wish the artist a good and well deserved rest

I feel that Nirei should be the one acting the way Sakura is acting right now, like THEIR connection lately (without belittling the relationship between Suo and Sakura) has been deeper with a lot of chapters dedicated to developing their friendship. Well, I always felt the wall between Suo and everyone else...

True.. Sakura's feelings are understandable but Nirei's has been underwhelming. Maybe he's just better at managing his emotions and Sakura, being an amateur, is having a worse time dealing with it. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I think nirei was able to process his feelings properly because he got to confront suo directly, albeit not successfully. While sakura had to listen from others that one of his best bud beat the shit out of his other best bud. Like they said, sakura's maturity on processing his feelings is like that of a child. So unable to confront the main source of his anguish, aka suo, he doesn't know where or how else to direct it.

It's the differences oof upbringing. For Nirei, it was probably like a friend suddenly gone for no reason. For Sakura it felt like a heavy betrayal to his own believe.

Nirei has his own family, but Sakura's family... is them. I think that's the difference.

I really get what you all mean, however, my point's more about... how do I explain this... it feels like if it had been Nirei the one gone in this situation, Sakura's reaction would be the one we're seeing right now (?) I don't feel the same closeness between Suo and Sakura as they each have with Nirei. There was a Reddit post that mentioned something similar: "Am I the only one who thinks Sakura and suo are not as close?
    Discussion
At the beginning of the manga it showed how much suo was curious about Sakura and interested in him So I thought we'll get of development about the two of them but eventually it feels author focus more on suo and neirei relationship

Ahhh, this one, I agree thoughh. It really feels like there's a distance between them and suo rarely got a decent screentime to show their friendship.

But he did also come to sakura's house to give him something that would fill up his room. I guess there's more going on than what was shown to us?

Ah.. I can see that. But maybe it's because Nirei is more emotional and vocal about supporting Sakura. Suo's like a guide who gently nudges you in the right direction. Now that I think of it, most of the times he's just there to quietly support Sakura in the background. I think that matters a lot too because Sakura eventually learned to entrust his back to them, learned that he doesn't have to do everything and let them share his burden. Plus, the trio has always been together. That's gotta show something ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

    pinkcloud322 June 24, 2026 9:58 am

???? pretty sure the trio is equally important to each other, why are we supposed to dictate who should act more depressed??

Just an opinion, from the writing pov, i really love my boys and just want the angst to end

True, but i noticed that Neirie and suo's relationship was constantly improving thanks to Neirie's attachment to suo, he was the one who was curious about things and will pull suo along with him, suo was friendly but wasn't the type to push too hard in relationships, he enjoyed more to be a few steps back from others and watch everything infold while throwing few jokes, comments or sharing thoughts, but he was never there alone, Nerie was most of the time standing there with him, Nerie loved to stick to suo; he was patient and kand to him, and suo tend to think first of the other innocent peoples safety over actively engaging in fights, that made Nerie feel safer to stay by his side rather then staying bare to danger and causing distraction to Sakura during fights.
So it's like, nerie is active in sticking around others while suo in really not,
Sakura also is not really good with that, so unconsciously he wasn't that chummy with suo like nerie, sou and Sakura both wasn't good with actively attaching to someone but still understood each other to some sort
That's why i love Nerie, he's like a linking chain for his friend group, he sticks to everyone, he was so endearing to suo but dangerous at the same time
