Basically the author thought mc would fight until the end with words and shi because she has been fighting so hard to survive until now. so they set the condition as “dont fight your death” or “accept your death” or something like that because in the cannon ending, edith is supposed to die with her family. Killian is supposed to chop her head off. Thats how the og Edith and those before her died.
