They break up in the novel bc he's a chaebol and stuff. She initiated the break up because she knew she's never meant to be with him (social class, work and all) and his mother had a private talk with her implying that. Then stuff happens where they were both depressed and separated but still take care of one another (cute tbh), mostly her. Then ML grovel to his grandfather and mother to let their relationship be accepted or else he will run away and open a noodle shop or something. ┗( T﹏T )┛

Well, she shows with hard work that she is someone that iseop deserves, but also, he fights for her. He fight for permission and also fight to get her back
Spoiler. It's still so good because the drama really isn't that heavy with the family, he still have great relationship with his mother and grandfather. And they also let him be with her easily after he confess how he feels. It was so funny too, he was so ready to throw everything away and say to his grandpa he will open a noodle restaurant if he won't approve
She was easily accepted because they never really hated her to begin with. Its just that Iseop was expected to marry with the same socioeconomic background. The family genuinely do like her but the mother thought the relationship was an office hook up and not a romatic emotional one (from what i interpret) ╮(￣▽￣)╭.

After the break up and then he fights to be with her, they get back together. They do get a happy ending, I got to the part of the novel where she ends up pregnant and I believe it was still ongoing at the time. So I never finished it from there.
