Yeah I notice it's a trend in the author's works, their characters always have some hidden sides to them. But from what I see so far, author-nim doesn't write red flags. Their work Love for Sale has an even shadier vibe in the beginning but the ending is one of the fluffiest thing I've ever seen in BLs.

Honestly, both Juhyeok and Suah are terrible with consent. People forget that Juhyeok also sexually assaulted Suah when Suah realized that Juhyeok suddenly being nice to him wasn’t because Juhyeok was warming up to him but for produce more sperm for him, which was cruel of Juhyeok because it wasn’t necessary as Suah was already willing to give him sperm. Juhyeok realized that and instead of speaking with Suah who was very visibly upset and wanted to leave, he literally forced himself on Suah, panicking about not getting Suah’s sperm.

Suah assaulting Juhyeok back is framed like a payback which is a terrible narrative choice. I wish the author didn’t have to resort Rape as Drama because there is plenty of conflict between Juhyeok and Suah on their own, especially when Juhyeok takes his internalized hatred of being an omega onto Suah is a compelling narrative thread on its own.

No fr, the author really didnt have to go through that route in the story. It just missed it up. They could have explored the idea of them being dysphoric of their secondary sex instead it was just scraped to the side

How it is not the same? Because in order to get that sperm, they have to perform sexual acts to do so. If someone has clearly indicated to you that they no longer want to do any sexual acts with you, consent is withdrawn and everything you do to them afterwards is sexual assault. Mind you that Juhyeok didn’t have to emotionally manipulate Suah to get the large amount of his sperm that he needed to go to Japan, Suah already had agreed to their arrangement already and would’ve acquiesced to it. Juhyeok realized he fucked up and his first response was keeping a visually upset Suah from leaving and drag down his pants and underwear and try to get Suah hard by sucking his very flaccid cock (although even if Suah gotten hard, it was still assault but it was a clear indication Suah didn’t want it) and scream at him that Suah was going to cause him his match.

Scenting is not sexual assault, especially since scenting isn’t a sexual act but it still is an intimate act between people who are close. Suah committed a non-sexual consent violation. Suah was wrong for that because even if Juhyeok was not taking proper safety precautions as an omega due to his internalized hate and general prejudice against omegas, it’s still not Suah’s place to do that and it ended up with an unintended consequence that Juhyeok has to now pay for.
