Chapter begins with Pier getting sick so she takes meds and dreams.
It begins with her violent death then pans over to her academic life.
She is an observer to her Japanese Lab where several archeological heads are being given a presentation by the Ex. This is so he could be awarded a doctoral degree interview in the super competitive archeological field. He is using all the research he stole and gave a near perfect presentation.
The audience asks several questions and then dismisses him. Pier is in turmoil because that was all her hard work he was taking credit for.
The next scene changes to the angry Ex confronting one of the examiners at his interview. Something like:
"Why wasn't I awarded a PhD!"
Pier is shocked too. Was her research rejected? Was it bad? That was all her work...
"Because your stupid." Arai-Sensei replied.
"What?! I worked hard on that, even in my sleep. It was approved by Harayama University!"
"Then you should get a PhD as Harayama."
"I'm not joking. Give me back my time and effort, thief!"
"That's what you have to say?" Arai-sensei leaned his elbows on his desk and propped his chin on his hands, "sometimes I do unannounced tests on my student's research. To see if there is any mischief going on."
"How would I know? I'm not in your lab."
"That's right. The data you quoted in your answers was a lie I fabricated." Arai-Sensei laughed horribly.
"What?"
"When I tried to do an unannounced test for forged data, it proved useful don't you think? Only Yu-chan was waiting for an answer. That was the night of the incident."
"..."
"In other words, you're a plagiarist. You have no talent to detect fabrications and you steal the work of dead classmates. Do you think Yu didn't report her work to me first? She was consulting me every week."
Her Ex continued paling throughout the speech.
"While right now the research treatsies are in your name, but it was her life. I requested an academic examination. Let's fight."
The Ex quivered and slammed the door on the way out.
The fact he was denied a doctoral degree meant the president and university also sided with Doctor Arai.
"Sensei, thank you."
he got busted & socially buried. wish he got ran by a truck or something, mf did not suffer enough
I like this manhwa but not the fact she is just a child.
Could be better if all this happened when she grew up in age.
The title doesn't do any justice to the story its so well written
Initially i didn't like it much coz i thought its same as other stories but it is really good as it progress. Liked it a lot both FL and ML(▰˘◡˘▰)
