I sure do love MC's that are always hiding something, and to top it all of the genius of his manipulation is absolutely crazy. I do think there is some truth in his personality, but it is so fun to catch times when the author drops hints to it.

Honestly imo this wasn't even that bad. Like yes Rou shouldn't have said that, but he was doing his best trying to comfort someone who was down in the dumps mentally and their belief in love. And told Yoshino about it, which in response said he understood. Literally nothing went down between them. And Yoshino as a mature grown adult talked properly to Niko, and Niko firmly states his intentions and boundaries with Rou. And for me I have never seen this amount of clear communication in fiction that's all gbye
