i don't know why so many authors romanticize rape. this manhwa could have been one of the best i've ever read, but when season 5 came, it completely changed how i felt about it. it honestly made me want to drop the mahwa.
i really wish authors would stop using rape as a plot device. i don't like reading manhwas that focus more on smut than on the actual story. when the plot starts revolving around explicit scenes instead of character development and storytelling, i just get bored and lose interest.
i've read some manhwas that contain rape, but that doesn't mean i like it or support it. in fact, i hate how often it's treated as something necessary for the story. there are so many other ways to create conflict, develop characters, or add emotional depth without relying on sexual violence. it becomes even more frustrating when it's romanticized or brushed aside instead of being handled seriously.
a good story should be able to stand on its own through its writing, characters, and plot—not because it shocks readers with unnecessary scenes.

this manhua reminded me so much of that one sunsun au i read on twitter/x. while reading it, i kept getting flashbacks to that au and all the emotions i felt when i first read it. as i read every chapter, i literally cried. it brought back so many memories and feelings that i didn’t expect to feel again. somehow, both stories just hit me right in the heart.
but the difference is that, i think, the au i read didn’t have any rape or anything like that ;)
