I thought I can read this and be fine because I have read this before and I know it's gonna be painful. And because I am aware, I thought It's gonna be fine to read it again.
It's fine. REALLY.
But I still bawled my eyes out at 2am in the morning mourning for Kirino's Pandora's Box. Imagine being that someone who has helped people be accepting and confident about themselves then the plot twist is that you got the opposite of that like a curse.
I definitely HATE Kirino's mother. But maybe it's because I am older now that deep inside, I can't stay mad and blame her. It's because Kirino's has decided that his priority is to make his mom happy. So if being gay makes her sad, then he won't be. He chose his path. May be it's forced somehow, in terms of being filial and his love for his mom. But I want to think that it's a path he has chosen knowing what lies ahead. And he took responsibility for it. He may not be the happiest but I hope he is happy.
I know he's a great son, a great father, and a great spouse. But I want this ending not the end of his path. I hope that someday, a future I'll probably never see, he's gonna be confident and accepting of his own Pandora's Box.
I am also kind if hoping for Mister Yanagida's heart and mind to be at peace. It will never erase and will never ever justify his crimes but I sympathize with the struggles and I know just how hard it is to keep everything away just to please others. In the future, ir even in another life, I hope he will be able to find his Nanjou-kun and be able to open and explore his own Pandora's Box.
I'll probably read this again. But definitely not in the near future. I know it's spoiler but I've had a lot if thoughts.
I'm guy. I'm queer. You can't decide not to be gay. Or wtv other sexuality you're actually born w. You CAN kill parts of yourself, live half dead and then all that comes out sideways in other ways. Or you unalive yourself. Whichever comes first

hi! thank you so much for this reply I literally read my lengthy comment. Is it about the part that I said, "if being gay makes Kirino's mother, then he won't be"?
I am sorry if it came out negatively but it was not my intention. What I meant is that he knew what will happen if he chose whichever path he would take. Given that he made his choice, I prefer to think that he is prepared and that whatever things that might happen in the future, Kirino will take responsibility whether he continue his marriage, or divorce her wife. It is because that's how I see Kirino's personality. I know the path he took isn't the best for him and he'll continue to (i dunno the proper word) suffer but the good thing about these stories is that I have the freedom to think that it is not the end and there will be lots of doors that has yet to be open. Because I refuse to be d-pressed, I want to think that he's fine and that he'll have the happy ending he deserves.
I am sorry if I am sorry if it came out wrong. Thank you for pointing it out.
