IMO the story would've hit better if they didn't immediately show what happened after her death in the first few chapters. Would've been a banger reveal upon meeting her mentor that "wait, he didn't hate me?? was he not going to kill me like rosie said??" Would've felt more impactful once Mikael started getting his memories back too, so the audience learns at the same time as the characters. Kinda jumped the gun by showing their hand too early. Or maybe I'm just thinking too much about CJ the X's video essay on skipping the first five minutes of Tangled, who can say.
