He suffers from traumatic event in the past and still can’t be healed. It’s not ‘I was abused by my father so I became violent!’ but a truly traumatic experience. It’s not justified his actions but makes it look reasonable. Plus, he’s not actually hurt the mc. (ML even calls for psychiatric for mc when mc said he likes the ml lol)

to be clear from the very beginning, I was obsessed with the story half way through until there was too much bs I couldn’t ignore. this story is extremely flawed and unfortunately turned out to be your common historical isekai slop with plot holes that keep you up at night, fuming. so this might be more of a rant than an actual spoiler.

first of all, INSANE miscommunication. we all hate it yes but personally, I don't mind it as much as long as the couple learns from it and comes out stronger after. you won't get anything like that until literally the last 3 chapters of the entire novel, 155 chapters in total. side stories not included.

their miscommunication gets so repetitive, it does lowkey nothing for the plot. super frustrating as a reader. I deadass started hating both mc and ml.

mind you, these are two adults. one is literally a duke who has to use his braincells to lead his own ducal estate, servants, knights, money, food, etc. but suddenly got NONE left to communicate even the tiniest bit. like? idk man, tell her that you appreciate her? that you want her to stay by your side?? that she's important to you??? I'm not fucking expecting your whack ass cold duke of the north personality to straight up confess your undying love but wtf man. all he ever does is fuck her like a rabbit throughout the night like I get it she's hot and all but why tf is it so difficult to show any type of vulnerability/feelings/emotions in both of your most vulnerable states??? a literal man child if you ask me.

I rarely shit on victims but boy is she fucking frustrating. literally in denial whenever herdins body language suggests that he loves her. she keeps saying "maybe he loves me too?" and allows herself to fall for him and after two chapters she's like "boy that man treated me like shit in my past life, prolly not. I'm so delulu, I gotta go" and once or twice is okay but I feel like this was the setting throughout the entire novel.

reason why herdin treated her so cruelly in their first life was due to a curse casted upon both of them, their love for each other kept the curse active and he believed that if one of them hates the other the curse will be broken so he did everything in his might for blair to hate him. so cliché. I really was expecting a better reason.

and after herdin finally remembers his supressed memories from his first life for some reason? he FINALLY declares his undying love for her and tells her that he loved her in his first life as well. and wtf does blair do? she still wants to leave him. GIRL ARE YOU MESSING WITH ME YOU DEADASS WANTED TO STAY A FEW TIMES WHEN YOU ASSUMED HE MAYBE FINALLY LOVES YOU IN THE 2ND LIFE AND NOW THAT YOU FINALLLYYYY KNOW HE REALLY LOVES YOU, YOU'RE TOO HURT AND TRAUMATISED FROM YOUR FIRST LIFE?? ALLOWING HER TO KEEP HER MEMORIES FROM HER FIRST LIFE THAT SCARRED HER FOR LIFE?? AND IN HIS LAST MOMENTS HE SAYS "please run away from me" BEFORE THE TIME TURNS BACK LIKE??? BITCH ARE YOU FUCKING MENTAL?? LIKE WHO SHAT IN YOUR BRAIN?? DO YOU THINK WITH BLAIR'S PERSONALITY AND YOUR FUCKING PERSONALITY, SHE'LL BE ABLE TO RUN AWAY FROM YOU??? this novel is genuinely frustrating, I'm a very calm and patient person okay. Idk wtf the author thought writing such a flawed reason as to why blair got to keep her memories of her first life. like if the author just wrote that herdin used dark magic I wouldn't even question why blair got to keep her memories. I would've just assumed she kept her memories cause the author said so. the idea was just horribly implemented. I don't think I would've disliked the story as much as I do now if it wasn't for that.

only positive thing I can say is that me diving into this novel, not knowing anything, believing that they'll have good character development and waiting for them to finally realise their feelings for each other, kept me hooked. the spice was nice too I guess.

she indeed is extremely delulu, long story short she gets exposed how she justifies her own actions, wanting a married man. she loses her good image and is disgraced and I don't quite remember if she loses her position as a priestess but I think she does cause she's basically standing on trial and everyone in the courtroom witnesses her losing it.
