I actually like their fucked up rs. Not to say I ship them lol. Ray obv is a fucked up person, narcissistic & sociopathic. He sees ban as a source of affection, despite his inability to feel any of that. He hates and is disgusted by the fact that he needs ban. And in order for ban to stay, ray figured he needed to give him what he wants (affection/care/sex). He wasn't just disgusted– he's disappointed. Being the narc that he was, he probably expected ban to be different than everyone else he used. He's disappointed/disgusted by the fact of how easy ban is.
Sex as self-harm and sabotage is a pretty big theme in this manhwa. I think both ray and ban do it to themselves, and each other (but esp ban).
I like their rs bcs it's not a rs born of need, but a rs where they actively hurt each other through sex. It's so nuanced. That's why I love the slow burn between ban and shinwi. I also love that shinwi didn't immediately accept ban, but thats a diff topic.

I fucking love this manhwa. Nothing comes close. Maybe the Unchanged Man. Either way, this manhwa deserves its rep. Yoonbum as a whole is how you should write a truly pathetic, loser character. He has depth and complexity. He's not just a bottom who gives in every time. I love how the sex scenes are *ALWAYS* significant to the plot. They're not pointless smut.
